ORIGINS AND ETYMOLOGY
Astro-English: from Astronese, the word proximation is formed from the adjective proximate denoting that which is “near or immediate to”; this concept of nearness is expanded in the Astronist use of the term to include both spiritual and intellectual beyond the traditional concept of physical proximity; indeed, the Astronist goal of subsumption into the astronomical world is embodied by the concept and related practice of proximation.
